The inland
An exploration of the interior by 4WD will lead you to farms, coffee plantations, pineapple fields and vantage points like Belvedere; high on the crater wall of Mount Rotui, it offers phenomenal views of beautiful Cook's Bay and Opunohu that cut deep into the interior like two symmetrical dark blue fingers.
Underwater
The famous blue lagoon surrounding the island is crystal clear and is best explored by canoe. There are numerous hidden coves where you can see parrotfish scurrying away while snorkeling, observe turtles and even swim among manta rays and hammerhead sharks.
