Vanilla Island
Tahaa is a calm and small island that shares a coral-rich lagoon with Raiatea. Unlike the jagged silhouette of Raiatea, flower-shaped Tahaa is hilly. Its fertile valleys and rolling hillsides are covered with coconut trees and vanilla plantations, and pearls are grown in the surrounding bays. Het eiland heeft behalve het beeldschone Faaaha Bay weinig stranden, maar het rif is bezaaid met schitterende motu's die zijn bedekt met hagelwitte palmstranden. Where the world can't find you...
World-class snorkeling spots
The coral garden is Tahaa's most famous snorkeling spot. This crystal clear water channel is located in an idyllic setting between two motu, in the middle of one of the largest lagoons in French Polynesia. As you drift along colorful and preserved coral, you will see alternating schools of butterfly fish, lionfish, brightly colored wrasse, clownfish and large giant clams sunbathing just below the sea surface.
Pastel-colored sunrises and sunsets
As on the neighboring islands, the pastel-colored sunrise on Tahaa is worth getting up early for. At the end of the day, you can expect one or even two rainbows before the sun disappears behind Bora Bora's jagged profile with great spectacle.
