Expedition vessel MS Fridtjof Nansen , named after the Norwegian polar explorer and scientist, is the latest addition to Hurtigruten's fleet of custom ships. The ship was built in 2020 and is virtually identical to sister ship MS Roald Amundsen . Both expedition ships are next-generation, with a revolutionary battery-hybrid-powered propulsion system. Combining state-of-the-art technology and first-class experience on board with more than 125 years of experience, the ship is ideally suited to explore the most spectacular corners of the world. The beautiful landscapes are reflected in the ship's rich and comfortable interior, with natural Scandinavian materials such as granite, oak, birch and wool, used to create relaxed and stylish cabins and public spaces, 'Where the world can't find you.. .'
