Modernized Atlantic Expedition Ship
MS Nordstjernen is named after the North Star or 'Stella Polaris', the famous star in the northern celestial pole that seafarers and Vikings used to navigate before the advent of electronic systems such as GPS.
The ship was built in 1956 and extensively modernized in 2000, especially for expeditions on the Arctic Sea. Her beauty has been restored with new copper and classic wood interiors and decks that preserve the look of the old Atlantic ship it once was. MS Nordstjernen is equipped with a dining room and bar, a café, a panorama lounge and a library. Outside, on the largely covered deck, you can enjoy the untouched nature of the polar region unhindered, in good and bad weather.
